Goals for 2014

I wish you a verry happy new year!
May it be full of good books!

For this year it is my goal to read at least 40 books, of which at least 5 are classics. I'm not sure which ones I will be reading this year, but I think I will read one of Jane Austen's novels and I will be rereading The Hobbit. Divergent is still on top of my to-read list so I'll definitely be reading that one soon. I can't wait to finally catch up with that series.

As far as writing concerned I want to finish at least the first draft of one of the stories that I'm writing and finish Nanowrimo.

What are your reading and/or writing goals for this year?

  1. I am ashamed to say that I never read The Hobbit. I started it, but never actually managed to get through it. (Hides face in shame...) :-)

    1. Haha, I think Tolkien's writing is definitely not for every one. I found The Hobbit quite easy to read and read it in one go, but I got stuck in The Lord of the Rings twice and have never finished it. I also hope to give The Lord of the Rings another go this year and hopefully I'll finally finish it. I also own The Children of Húrin by Tolkien and there I never managed to read through the introduction, because there where a lot of names mentioned that looked very much alike. I really like Tolkien's writing style but I can only read his books in times that I'm not to bussy to fully apreciate them.
