Nano 2014 update #1
The first day of Nanowrio I wrote quite some words but the next day I wrote very little and the day after that I also wrote very little. After my initial writing I didn't feel inspired anymore at all. I tried to keep on writing, but somehow it just wasn't working. For the next couple of days I didn't write anything at all. Yesterday evening I decided that I would lay this project aside for a while and continue Nano by starting another story that has been in my head for quite some time. Maybe it is not smart, because I don't know if I'll be able to finish this way, but I feel so inspired! Today I wrote 2896 words and I have several other scenes in my head, ready to be written, so I'm very happy that I made the switch. In the end Nanowrimo is about the fun of writing and actually getting something down on paper!

Good luck with the rest of NaNo!!!! I think you have to write what inspires you at the time, and if that's a completely different story, then that's the one you need to tell:):) Hope you continue to be inspired!
ReplyDeleteThank you! So far it's going pretty good. The last couple of days I managed to write about 2,500 words per day, so if it will continue like this I'll still be able to catch up :)
DeleteThat's wonderful dear! I wish you luck for your project (both of them!)
ReplyDeleteEven I'm thinking to start another one as I wasn't able to write anything for the first one (only 100 words in 15 days! lol! )
NaNoWriMo is just to get our writing juices flowing... It's great how it gets us writing by inspiration!
Thank you! If you have another idea I think you definitely should! For me it has really worked out. I'm still behind on the word count but I have been able to write quite some words the last days again. I'm just enjoying writing on this new story, whereas the first one started to feel a bit like a struggle. I'll just continue it some other time when I have some new inspiration.
DeleteI definitely agree with you that NaNo is just to get you writing, it doesn't matter if you reach 50.000 words if you at least feel inspired to write something and really enjoy it.
