Safety after storm

I am definitely not a poetry mastermind, but I finished my nanowrimo word goal for the day and eventhough I'm trying to write more prose, my brain refuses and only produces poetry.
I remember making poems as a kid, but it's a long time ago that I made any...

We’re building a house
after the storm
when the waves no longer
come crashing down
when finally our foundation wil hold
then I can lie here
and sleep for a bit

The walls will no longer fall
The roof will remain
in it’s place
We will be happy and safe
from now on
and we will know
this is it
here we should stay.

    1. Thank you! I really would like to write some more poetry, to get better. I'm sure you could write something too if you feel inspired!
